Story

The Cinderfells are the kind of highlands where the ground argues back. Rivers run orange, the mountains cough, and the Ashmane clan measures a person by how many times they have been knocked down and how loudly they got back up. The Barbarian has the scars to prove he is a person of considerable standing.

He followed the smell of smoke to the Sleepless Gate because it smelled like home, only with more doors. He has been told to pace himself. He nodded politely and then did not. Wolves, trolls and dragons are, in his view, neighbors with poor manners, and he introduces himself to them with an axe the size of a small door.

Friends say the Barbarian is at his most frightening when a fight looks lost. Enemies say they agree, and that they would rather not have found out.
