Early draft. The Moboria team is still reviewing this page, and it is not legal advice.
On this page
This page explains what Moboria knows about you, why, and how to get it removed. We kept the words simple on purpose.
The short version
- We know your Twitch name and a few game numbers, like your coins. We do not know your email, real name, age or location.
- Other people can see your hero's name, class, level and health while you are in a raid.
- There are no ads and no analytics on this site today. We will update this page before that changes.
- You need to be 13 or older.
- To have your data removed, message us in the Twitch chat or on Instagram.
Who runs Moboria
Moboria is a small project run by the Moboria team. The game is played live on the Twitch channel moboria_online, and this website shows the live raid and your account. When this page says "we", it means the Moboria team.
Moboria is not affiliated with Twitch.
What we store
Most of this is saved only if you join a raid or log in.
- Your Twitch user id, login name and display name
When: you type
!joinin the stream's chat, or you log in on this site with Twitch. Why: so the game knows who you are, keeps one hero per person and can show your name in the raid. - Your coins, and a record of how you earned or spent them When: at the end of a raid, and when you buy something. Why: so your coins are still there next time.
- The items you own When: you buy something on your account page. Why: so you keep what you bought.
- Which raid you are in right now When: while you are in a raid. Why: so nobody fights in two raids at once.
- Your hero's class, level and health, and the raid's stage When: every few seconds while the raid runs. Only the latest copy is kept. Why: to show the live raid on the Live page.
- Feedback you send
When: you send
!reportor!suggestin chat. What: your words (up to 300 characters), your Twitch login, display name and id, the time, and a short note about the game at that moment, such as what the raid was doing and which enemy was on screen. Why: so the developer can read it and fix or build things. It is never shown on stream or on this site. - A login session When: you log in. It lasts 30 days. Why: so you stay logged in. See Cookies below.
Two things are kept by the game itself, not by the website: your hero's levels and experience in each class, and the class you picked last. The game saves them in a file on the computer that runs the stream, under your chat name. It also keeps a few high-score lists with chat names.
What other people can see
- On the Live page: anyone, without logging in, can see the display name, class, level, current and maximum health of every hero in a running raid, and the raid's stage. The same data is available from the site's public raid feed. It is there only while you are in the raid.
- On the stream: hero names, raid screens and high-score lists show chat names. While your hero is in a raid, an ordinary chat message you write can show for a few seconds as a speech bubble over your hero (the first 40 characters).
- In Twitch chat: everything you type there is public, and Twitch runs it under its own rules.
Your coins, items, feedback and Twitch user id are not shown to other people.
What we do not collect
- Your email address, real name, home address, phone number or birth date.
- Your Twitch password. You type it only on Twitch's own page, never on ours.
- Payment details. Nothing on Moboria costs money today.
- Your location, or the list of channels you follow or subscribe to.
- A history of the chat. The game reads chat live to spot commands and to show speech bubbles, but we do not save the messages.
- Advertising ids, or any attempt to follow you from one site to another.
The game notices whether a chat message came from a Twitch subscriber, so subscribers can be placed ahead in the waiting line. It keeps that only in memory while you wait. We keep no list of subscribers.
Ads and analytics
Today this site has no ads, no analytics and no tracking scripts. Every page loads only files from Moboria's own server, fonts included. Nothing is loaded from other companies. The links to Twitch and Instagram just take you to their sites.
If we ever switch on an ad service, we will update this page first and say what it collects.
Logging in with Twitch
Logging in is optional. You only need it for the Account page (coins, items and shop). Here is what happens:
- The login button takes you to Twitch's own page, where you approve.
- Twitch sends our server a one-time code.
- Our server swaps the code for a Twitch access token and asks Twitch one question: who is this?
- From the answer we keep three things: your Twitch user id, login name and display name. We use the token once and do not save it.
Permissions: Moboria asks Twitch for no extra permissions (no OAuth scopes). That means it can only see the public part of your Twitch profile. It cannot read your email, your follows or your subscriptions, cannot read or write chat for you, and cannot act as you on Twitch.
You can log out on the Account page, which deletes your session. You can also remove Moboria's access in your Twitch settings, under connected apps.
Cookies
This site sets two cookies, both only for logging in:
sidlasts up to 30 days or until you log out. It holds a random code that links your browser to your login session. Scripts on the page cannot read it, and our server keeps only a scrambled version of the code.oauth_statelasts up to 10 minutes while you log in. It stops other sites from forging your login, and it is deleted when the login ends.
We do not use cookies for ads or tracking. If you block cookies, the public pages still work, but logging in will not.
Server logs
The Moboria server does not keep an access log and does not save IP addresses in its database. When something breaks it writes an error message to a log that has a size limit and rotates by itself. The company that hosts the server may keep its own short technical logs, such as the time and address of a request. We do not use them to follow individual visitors.
How long we keep things
- Login sessions: 30 days.
- Which raid you are in, and the live raid status: temporary. They are replaced or removed as raids end.
- Your name, coins, items, reward history, feedback and hero progress: kept while the demo runs, until you ask us to delete them. We do not have an automatic deletion schedule yet.
Moboria is an early demo. If we reset it, everyone's progress may be erased.
Ask us to delete your data
You can ask what we have stored about you, ask us to fix it, or ask us to delete it. Message us in the Twitch chat of moboria_online or on Instagram at @moboria, from the account you use in Moboria so we can match it. We do not publish an email address, to keep spam away.
If you ask for deletion, we remove your player record, coins, items and feedback from the website's database, and your hero progress from the game's save file. After that you start fresh. We answer as fast as a small team can.
You can also leave a lobby with !leave, log out on the Account page, or simply stop typing commands.
Age
Moboria is for people who are 13 or older, because Twitch requires that. If you are younger, please do not log in or type commands in the chat. If we find out that someone under 13 has an account, we will delete it.
Sharing
We do not sell your data and we do not give it to advertisers. It sits in a database on the server that runs Moboria. Twitch handles your login and your chat messages under its own privacy policy, which we do not control.
Changes and contact
When we change this page, we change the date at the top. Before any ad service is switched on, this page will say so.
